Cassidy Hartmann | Co-President, White Horse Pictures

Cassidy Hartmann is a documentary writer and producer, and the Co-President of White Horse Pictures. She was a producer on the Oscar-shortlisted, Emmy-winning documentary The Apollo [HBO] directed by Roger Ross Williams as well as an Executive Producer on the Emmy- winning documentary The Bee Gees: How Can You Mend A Broken Heart [HBO], directed by Frank Marshall and the Emmy-winning Lucy & Desi [Amazon], directed by Amy Poehler. Hartmann most recently co-wrote and produced a documentary about the ventriloquist and children's entertainer Shari Lewis and her most famous puppet, Lamb Chop, which was directed by Lisa D'Apolito (Love, Gilda). She also recently produced an upcoming documentary on beloved actor Gene Wilder directed by Chris Smith. She’s an Executive Producer on White Horse’s upcoming documentary Billy Preston: That’s the Way God Planned It and Co-Executive Producer on the HBO documentary series STAX : Soulsville, U.S.A. She was named to DocNYC’s “40 Under 40” list in 2022.

Hartmann also serves as a writer or story consultant on nearly all of White Horse's projects, including The Bee Gees, Ron Howard’s Pavarotti [Showtime], and The Apollo. She was also a Co- Executive Producer on the Grammy- and BAFTA-winning The Beatles: Eight Days a Week - The Touring Years [Hulu] directed by Ron Howard. Her first producing credit was Mole Man, directed by Guy Fiorita, about a 66-year-old man on the autism spectrum, who is part of the “Lost Generation” of older adults who were never officially diagnosed, which premiered at DocNYC in 2019 and was distributed by Sundance Now.
